Cairns Apartment Complex

We recently received a call from a Body Corporate representative, of an apartment complex located at Yorkeys Knob. This complex of approximately 40 units, had a secure automated front entrance gate with intercom, as well as a sliding gate at the rear of the property. The intercom system was installed 3 years previously and worked for 3 months, before breaking down. Despite having various technicians visit the site over the ensuing years, the intercom remained broken.

After the call, Integral Electrics Qld visited the site and conducted fault finding on the intercom. We found PCB on gsm 2G not 4G. We determined the intercom required upgrade on intercom. We communicated our findings with the body corporate representative and subsequent to this, sent the intercom back to the manufacturer for upgrade on PCB. During our visit, we also discovered that 12 volts power supply was burnt from exposure to the sun. We replaced the power supply and installed the upgraded unit, when it returned from the manufacturer. The intercom is now working again!

The second half of our call out was to inspect and attend to the faulty automated sliding gate. The problem was that the gate would not stay closed for long periods of time. On inspection, we found the opinion wheel behind the motor was unable to make proper contact with the gate racking on closing. Racking was required to be adjusted to seat correctly, to allow for limit on gate to be made for finalise sequence. Once correction was made, we checked and tested the gate for correct operation. All worked correctly.
